UUYACJ Community Space for Organizers September 14, 2023 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm bit.ly/YACJCommunity UUYACJ has a new offering. On the second Thursday of each month at 5:30pm PT/ 8:30pm ET, we’ll be holding a community space for organizers. Our first gathering will be September 14th! As relationships are vital to build networks of care and a world of liberation, we will be creating and deepening connections with other UU young adult organizers. The space will include time for socializing, sharing our experiences in organizing, learning from our comrades, and imagining what a UU political analysis looks like. At the center of this offering is the goal that we recognize our collective power and find meaningful support in each other. We use the label “organizer” loosely. Anyone who is doing justice work (environmental or otherwise) is welcome here. Anyone who is seeking to do justice work is welcome here. Please register ahead of time at bit.ly/YACJCommunity See more details • •

Fall Conference in Washington DC; Focus on the Farm Bill September 26, 2023 9:00 am - 8:00 pm More information here and registration here: https://uujec.net/climatejusticeconference2023/ Why focus on conservation and regenerative farming? If you eat food, you care about the Farm Bill even if you don't know it! The farm bill connects the food on our plates, the farmers and ranchers who produce that food, and the natural resources our soil, air, and water that make growing food possible. The National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition. Why focus on farming to address climate change? About 11-14% of US GHGs come from Agricultural systems. Today's technology can remove 178 Billion tons of CO2 and reduce CO2 levels in the atmosphere by 157 ppm--enough to get us back to pre-industrial levels. CJ Action-Reflection Circle September 26, 2023 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm 7:00 pm ET/ 6:00 pm CT/ 5:00 pm MT/ 4:00 pm PT If you are engaged in climate justice, join with other UUs on a regular basis to share stories about your actions and strategies, restore your resilience, deepen your solidarity skills, and tap into our UU faith tradition as a source of strength. As Unitarian Universalists, our faith calls us to be agents for change. However, sometimes this work can feel lonely, draining, daunting, or disconnected from our spirituality. Action-Reflection Circles address both the yearning to tie our work to Unitarian Universalism and the call to transform ourselves and the world. The Action-Reflection Circle becomes a place to reflect, recharge, and renew our commitments. We gather to share ideas about tasks, campaigns, and the roller coaster of political wins and losses. And we focus on our UU Sources of Inspiration to ground our work and fortify our spiritual lives. Join us to deepen your climate justice work, spiritual growth, and the connections between the two. More details at our website: https://www.uumfe.org/support-for-activists/action-reflection-circles/ Starting August 22, 2023 Fourth Tuesdays 60 minutes 7:00 pm ET/ 6:00 pm CT/ 5:00 MT/ 4:00 PT Register here Zoom link will be sent upon registration See more details • • | 27- Fall Conference in Washington DC; Focus on the Farm Bill
