Unitarian Universalist Ministry for Earth is a 501(c)3 organization founded as the Seventh Principle Project in 2002 (UU 7th Principle: “Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part”). UUMFE offers  programs, opportunities and resources to inspire, educate, activate and connect individuals, congregations and organizations so they can take bold, accountable action for environmental justice, climate justice, and the flourishing of all life. UUMFE’s work and inter-organizational collaborations are grounded in environmental and climate justice organizing principles.

Position Summary:

The Fundraising Contractors  is a part time position, and of limited duration. UUMFE anticipates a three or four month contract for this position. The Contractor will co-develop a fundraising plan with the Board, and implement the plan within four months. The plan will have two distinct sub-plans:  for individuals, and for congregations. Both short-term and long-term fundraising strategies should be presented. 

The Contractor will have substantial interactions with the Board and Staff. Select Board members will set milestone goals, share general fundraising expertise, past fundraising experience at UUMFE, and pass along data from the CRM (Customer Relations Management) database. Staff will work as colleagues to help with communications, both via email and phone calls. The ideal Contractor will have prior non-profit management experience, be a skilled fundraiser and communicator, a strategic thinker, and be passionate about UUMFE’s mission.
