Dear Ones,
On the heels of the Unitarian Universalist Association’s General Assembly, I am still filled with the love and hope that gathering as a community of UU’s provides. The strength of our UU faith, which is made up of each one of us, has been reaffirmed to me. This faith is a weaving. It is made stronger when we actively work together.
As such, I am gratified that UUMFE (Unitarian Universalist Ministry for Earth) has chosen to endorse the following statement by DRUUMM (Diverse & Revolutionary Unitarian Universalist Multicultural Ministries) and BLUU (Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism):
🕊BLUU & DRUUM Join Statement – In Opposition to War, In Defense of Life🕊
Thank you to DRUUM and BLUU for their joint effort to affirm life and speak truth to power. In their words, “Even in sorrow, we are not powerless. We are called to act—with courage, compassion, and collective care… Let us keep choosing life, dignity, and peace—even in the hardest moments.”
May we all move bravely, passionately, peacefully, and prophetically into the future, beloveds. May we keep weaving the tapestry of love, together. Strand over strand, hand over hand, generation after generation, may we let love guide us on.
Onward,
Rev. Lauren Levwood
Board Chair, Unitarian Universalist Ministry for Earth
