Global Climate Strikes

On April 22, 2020, the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, young people and adults will strike all across the United States and the world to demand transformative action is taken to address the climate crisis. Other strikes may be planned around this day as well. To learn more, sign up to host a strike, or receive updates, check out

The Earth Day strike is expected to be the largest strike in history. The mass mobilization builds on the momentum of the September 20th, November 29th and December 6th Climate Strikes. The September 20th Climate Strike was the largest youth-led climate mobilization in US history, drawing over 650,000 people in the United States striking across over 1,300 events, and 7 million worldwide.

In the US, youth and adults, institutional and grassroots organizations, climate-focused and social justice groups are once again coming together as a unified front to demand the change we need to save our future.

These efforts are led by a youth climate strike coalition that has come together to collaborate on the campaign. The youth strike coalition, coordinated by Future Coalition, includes Zero Hour, Earth Guardians, Earth Uprising, Fridays For Future USA, Sunrise Movement, US Youth Climate Strike, Extinction Rebellion Youth, and International Indigenous Youth Council.
