The new 2020 edition of the UUA Green Sanctuary Program offers a path of congregational transformation. Congregations will have a simplified accreditation process, as well as provide resources to meet the climate crisis with careful urgency. It begins with spiritually grounded reflection and moves the whole congregation through a continuous spiral of awareness and commitment, resulting in a congregational life robust with courageous, ongoing climate action.
The climate crisis calls UUs to balance urgency with open minds and hearts to learn and collaborate with the frontline communities most impacted. The result will be a difficult but creative and soulful transition to a thriving world with opportunity, survivability and justice for all, now and for future generations.
The Green Sanctuary Program focuses on making UU congregations sites of powerful action for environmental and climate justice. If you are interested in staying up to date with the Green Sanctuary Program, register your congregation on the community organizing hub createclimatejustice.net. And don’t forget to spread the word about the upcoming webinar with your congregation.
