Letter-writing Advocacy Virtual Hangout with UUSJ
Friday, 4/24, Noon Pacific / 1 Mountain / 2 Central / 3 pm Eastern

UUs for Social Justice had a virtual Letter writing campaign that offers constituents the ability to write to their senators and other virtual advocacy options. This session focused on asking US Senators to support the American Innovation and Manufacturing Act (S.2754) – which will improve air quality, create green jobs, and phase down and replace industrial use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs – a powerful greenhouse gas with vastly more heat-trapping capacity than carbon dioxide) for safer alternatives. Numerous other public comment and letter-writing opportunities will be discussed as well. Bring your own paper and writing materials!

Support the People’s Bailout for a #JustRecovery!

The fourth principle of the People’s Bailout platform is “Make a down payment on a regenerative economy, while preventing future crises.”

The pandemic impact of reducing fossil fuel consumption, combined with the current oil market collapse, create a window of opportunity to forge a regenerative economy that can restore and safeguard ecological and public health. OR… we could bail out business as usual. Which would you prefer?

Read the full platform and consider supporting the call for a People’s Bailout.
