Get Ready for the 2020 GA Procession of Species!

As part of the 2020 Spring for Change: A Season of Sacred Activism, UU Ministry for Earth is encouraging congregations to create artwork of a local endangered or threatened species to bring to the UUA General Assembly in Providence, RI, June 24-28th. All of the species artwork created across the denomination will be displayed throughout the UUA General Assembly and featured in a “Procession of the Species”.

Last year, a profoundly beautiful Procession of the Species occurred outside in a park nearby the Spokane Convention Center. This year, the procession will be incorporated into the Closing Ceremony in the main hall of the GA, on Saturday,  June 27th!

This is a fabulous opportunity for multi-generational engagement on climate and ecological justice issues at your congregation, in a way that also builds unity across the denomination! Please check out the “Call to Arts” Toolkit to get started, and fill out the form at the bottom of this page when you are ready to commit!

UUMFE is also excited to announce that a limited number of mini-grants up to $250 are available to help your congregation create its species artwork!

To apply for a mini-grant — and to sign up in general! — fill out this sign up form below:
